Enhanced Outpatient Treatment
The Haven at College offers two levels of treatment- an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and an Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP).
The primary difference between the two programs is the number of hours of treatment and the degree of support offered to clients by Haven professionals. While both our IOP and EOP include a variety of groups and individual sessions, a weekly IOP schedule will typically consist of 6-9 hours of treatment over three days while an EOP schedule usually includes 3-4 hours of treatment per week. The right program for a client will depend on that client’s unique treatment needs.
A comparison of the two programs is below:
IOP
IOP: Combination of Individual, Group, and Family Therapy Sessions
- 2-3 hours/day; 3 days a week
- Case Management
EOP
EOP: Combination of Individual and Group Therapy Sessions
- 2-3 hours of Group Therapy a week
- Case Management
Is IOP or EOP Right For Me?
Every client receives a comprehensive assessment prior to admission to The Haven at College to assess each client’s unique needs and goals and develop an individualized treatment plan. Most clients begin treatment with The Haven at the IOP level and then transition to the EOP level after gaining the insight and skills to manage their own wellbeing with less clinical support. Some clients may begin treatment with The Haven at the EOP level if their treatment needs are assessed to require a more moderate level of clinical support than IOP.
The goal of treatment at The Haven at College is to equip each client with the skills, knowledge and confidence to manage their life and well being. Where each client begins treatment and their pace throughout treatement is unique based on each client's specific situation, challenges and needs. Recognizing that healing and recovery is an individualized process, The Haven creates a unique treatment plan for each client based on that client’s needs and goals.

Medication Management
Our program seamlessly integrates psychiatry and medication management with therapy to provide comprehensive care and ensure that all aspects of a client’s mental health are addressed. At The Haven we collaborate with our client’s psychiatric provider consistently throughout treatment and make outside referrals for psychiatric care if the need exists.
Continual Refinement Through Measurement-Based Care
Furthermore, we employ Measurement-Based Care (MBC) as a cornerstone of our treatment approach. MBC involves the systematic use of standardized, evidence-based tools and assessments to track a client’s symptoms, progress, and treatment outcomes over time. By regularly collecting and analyzing data on key indicators of progress, such as quantity and frequency of substance use, existence of risk factors (existence of strong cravings or stressful events) and the presence of protective factors, such as social supports, we can make informed decisions about adjusting treatment plans. This data-driven approach ensures that our interventions are continuously tailored to meet the evolving needs of each client, leading to more effective and personalized care.
