Virtual IOP For Students at University of Southern California

USC Mental Health and Substance Use Telehealth

Support that meets you where you are—literally.

At the University of Southern California, college life can feel like everything, everywhere, all at once. Between classes, internships, social pressure, and the weight of it all, it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind—especially when mental health or substance use starts to interfere.

The good news? You don’t have to go it alone. And you don’t have to leave campus to get help.

The Haven at College offers Virtual IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and mental health treatment specifically designed for USC students. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, or just need a reset, our telehealth programs are here to help you stay enrolled, stay supported, and start healing.

Why Virtual Treatment at The Haven Works for USC Students

Flexibility and Convenience

You deserve real support that doesn’t pull you out of your life.

We know how hard it can be to ask for help—especially when you're juggling school, family expectations, or just trying to keep it all together. That’s why our virtual mental health and addiction services are built to fit into your schedule, your rhythm, and your experience as a college student at USC.

Whether you’re living in student housing, commuting, studying abroad, or taking time off, our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform allows you to:

  • Connect with licensed therapists from wherever you are

  • Join group sessions with peers who get it

  • Work on real-life skills between classes—not in isolation

  • Access mental health or substance use treatment without leaving school

What We Treat Virtually

Our virtual programming is designed to treat college students facing a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety & panic
  • Depression & mood swings
  • Academic burnout
  • Trauma & PTSD
  • Social anxiety & loneliness
  • ADHD & executive functioning struggles
  • Substance use, alcohol misuse, marijuana dependence, and co-occurring disorders

Whether your challenges are new or long-standing, mild or more intense, our Virtual IOP for USC students gives you a path forward—one that doesn’t require stepping away from your education or your life.

USC Roots, National Reach

The Haven at College began its story right here at USC, opening its first residence and counseling center on campus back in 2012. Since then, we’ve supported hundreds of USC students through both in-person and virtual care.

We’ve walked with Trojans through recovery, reintegration, and rebuilding—and we know what it means to heal while staying connected to college life.

Even if you’re no longer on campus, you’re still part of the Trojan Family. And we’re still here for you.

Is Virtual Treatment Right for You?

If you’re asking questions like:

  • “Do I really need help?”

  • “Can I do this without taking a leave?”

  • “What if I just need someone to talk to who gets it?”

You’re in the right place.

Our virtual IOP and telehealth services for USC students are designed for students who need more than a weekly therapy session, but not residential or inpatient care. It’s flexible. It’s high-quality. And it’s rooted in compassion, not judgment.

What Is Virtual IOP?

Our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured, evidence-based treatment option that allows students to receive care from home or campus while continuing with their day-to-day responsibilities.

Group therapy

3-4 days per week, clients engage in groups led by licensed clinicians trained in DBT, CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing.

Individual therapy

Clients engage in evidence-based, one-on-one counseling with a licensed therapist.

Personalized Therapy

We don't believe in cookie-cutter mental health treatment. Each student has a unique treatment plan to support their needs.

Peer Support

Clients engage in a milieu of their peers and foster peer relationships with other college students to help you feel less alone and more empowered.

Conscious Recovery–infused curriculum

Conscious Recovery™ helps you explore root causes and reconnect with who you really are, addressing mental health struggle in context and as it relates to young adulthood.

Skill-building

Students work on life skills, studying skills, and support with both mental health and academic goals.
